A baby shower is the time when close friends and relatives gather to give blessings to a newborn or to the expectant parents. These days more and more showers include both men and women. There are some great ideas for baby shower games that will appeal to both men and women.

    Significance

  1. A baby shower is a party where all the guests shower the parents with items needed for the new baby. Baby showers are a popular tradition in the United States.
  2. Artist Game

  3. The artist game is a common baby shower game played with men and women. Guests are divided into two teams and each team designates someone to draw. The drawer is given a baby related word to draw out for his team. Each team gains one point when the correct word is guessed. This is an exciting and engaging game for all involved.
  4. Musical Bottle Game

  5. In the musical bottle game, three baby milk bottles filled with juice are given to any three guests. When the music beings, they have to pass them on. When the music stops, the person who ends up with the bottle has to drink it and the one who finishes first is the winner. Men seem to really enjoy this game. You can add more complexity by sealing the nipple of one of the bottles. The person trying from this bottle should also get a prize. Another twist can be to not allow the person to hold the bottle while drinking from it.
  6. Skill Testing Game

  7. Another game tests the skills of the soon-to-be father. Give him a baby doll in a stroller and put obstacles in his way. Let all the men who are fathers be the judges while the player pushes the stroller through and around all the obstacles safely.

A twist to this game is to give the expectant father several baby items including diapers, powder, baby oil and diaper rash cream. See how fast he can change a diaper using what he has been given.
  8. Memory Game

  9. The memory game is always fun at any type of gathering. Place several baby related items on a tray and cover the tray with a towel. Uncover the tray and give everyone one minute to look at all of the items. Cover the tray after the minute has passed and have each guest record what was on the tray. The person who remember the most items, wins.
  10. What's In a Name Game

  11. Find out what names the couple is thinking of naming their baby. Look up the meaning of their proposed names and several other names as well. Switch the names and the meanings around. See who can match the most names to the correct meanings.
