About Gas Cars for Kids

A recent trend in entertainment for children is the use of gas cars scaled to their size. Although these are usually more expensive than other replicas of automobiles, they can provide the realism not found with other products. Gas cars made for kids are powered by smaller versions of the piston engines found in real cars.

  1. Manufacturing

    • Most of the gas cars for children are custom-built to look like models that can be found on the road. Because they are customized, gas cars for kids need to be pre-ordered by companies that specialize in these particular products. Cars can be built in as little as 3 days to as long as a month, depending on the details that are required. Companies can meet up with the clients to discuss the specifications they require but, often, there is already a selection of models from which clients can choose.

    Price

    • Although these particular cars are meant for kids, they definitely cost more than the ordinary toy. They often run in the thousands of dollars because they are customized and make use of parts that are similar to real cars. The materials used in these products include fiberglass bodies and custom paint jobs. In addition to these, the gas engine, hand brakes and safety throttles also need to be installed. In cases where custom paint jobs and additional features such as electric horns are required, several hundred dollars can be added to the cost of the gas cars for kids.

    Parts

    • Gas cars for kids usually have a body constructed out of fiberglass and other standard features include steering wheels and rubber tires. In addition to these, there are optional parts that can be installed in the vehicle such as fog lights and tail lights. Practically all the parts found in regular cars can be included in these miniature gas cars. Hub caps, trailers and disc brakes can even be placed in the model.

    Models

    • There are as many models of gas cars for kids as there are real cars for adults. More often than not, the cars for children are replicas of the real things. Gas cars for children come in truck, sedan and even vintage models and can be quite faithful to the original design. For example, monster tires can be installed on certain jeep models for authenticity. Some of the most popular designs for gas cars for kids include Jaguars and Ferraris.

    Safety

    • Parents should always keep in mind that gas cars for kids need supervision when they are used. Although these have built-in safety features such as hand brakes, they can still be quite dangerous because of their mechanical nature. The machines need to be inspected before letting the children ride to ensure that the parts are working properly. Also, strict rules must be implemented when it comes to where these vehicles can be used. It is recommended that the children use them in wide, open spaces and never on busy roads.
