Paperboard package printing jobs allow businesses to prepare boxes, labels and cartons for shipping. Corrugated boxes, die cutting and glue are tools used in the industry to satisfy client requests. Paperboard package printing is a viable business. In fact, the industry continues to grow through acquisitions and mergers and customer sales.   1. Various jobs are available to printer, including die cutters and finishing managers, bindery folding operators and sheet-fed press operators. Bindery folding operators work with perfect binding equipment. The job requires the use of a high-speed twin loop and punch, as well as short-run adhesive case binding equipment. Experience with Excel, Acrobat and other software packages are beneficial skills to have for the job.

    Sheet-f-d press operators are responsible for the set-up and maintenance of a sheet fed press. Folder and finishing experience is required for the job. Sheet-fed press operators work with black-and-white and multi-color presses.

  3. Jobs for packagers include box designers, supervisors, sales engineers, contract engineers, packaging engineers and packaging managers. Senior level packaging jobs can pay more than $90,000 a year and generally require a bachelor's degree.

    Packaging engineers create packaging solutions including designs, develop and manage packaging teams and procedures that the team follows, and developing packaging processes. Packaging engineers also create risk-management data for company packaging processes.

    Packaging managers hire, train and provide feedback on staff performance. The managers inspect jobs and ensure that work meets company standards. In addition, packaging managers have oversight of budgets and offer guidance and advice to supervisors.
  4. Quality Manager

  5. Responsibilities for project managers include developing and analyzing statistical information, product specifications, conducting quality inspections and creating training initiatives related to quality assurance. The role is typically a senior level job that requires approximately five years of packaging experience and a bachelor's degree. Depending on the location and employer, the job can pay up to $75,000 a year.
  6. Plant Manager

  7. Plant managers oversee plant functions. In addition, plant managers prepare budgets, source vendors, coordinate manufacturing activities, analyze data and output reports in order to increase employee performance, and exceed client demands. Generally five years of managerial experience overseeing operations at a manufacturing company are required to fill this job. The role can pay up to $80,000 a year.
  8. Account Manager

  9. Paperboard packaging account managers communicate directly with customers, generate financial earnings and manage accounts. In addition, account managers deal with customer complaints and work to find resolutions to customer complaints or concerns. At senior levels, account managers can earn up to $80,000 a year.
