Online Survey Jobs

There are plenty of ways to make money on the Internet. Some of these are scams. Some are valid. One method to make money is by taking surveys online. It is advisable to sign up for a large number of survey companies if you would like to make some money doing surveys online. This increases your chances of receiving a survey that you qualify for. Online surveys can vary in the amount of time required from just a couple minutes to over an hour to complete a survey.

  1. Qualifying

    • Online survey jobs are available through online survey companies that send out survey opportunities to their member base on a regular basis. These surveys start out with a short survey based on demographics and possibly employment to begin the survey. After that, the first section will tell you if you have qualified to complete the entire survey. Only if you are part of the desired audience of the creator of the survey, will you either have a chance to earn points or money.

    Points-based Surveys

    • Many online survey companies reward their members with points. These points must be collected and them redeemed once the survey participant has earned enough points by completing surveys. Some of the online survey companies will make each point worth a certain monetary value. Others will allow individuals to trade in their points for prizes such as gift calls, DVDs, CDs, other electronic devices and airline tickets.

    Cash-based Surveys

    • There are survey companies that don't make you worry about waiting to accumulate a certain amount of points before redeeming them for a cash equivalent. Instead they will pay their survey members for every survey that they complete for the survey company. These payments are commonly paid out either by check or through a PayPal account. Payment policies vary from company to company.

    Minimum Payments

    • The amount that you can receive as a minimum payment from an online survey company varies from company to company. It is advisable to start with companies that have lower payout minimums when you start working for online survey companies. The risk is higher with companies that have large minimum payments. Some of those companies will give you a lot of surveys until you get close to the minimum payout and then stop sending them. Other companies with large minimum payouts can take over a year for a survey participant to earn enough to be paid. This doesn't mean all companies with large minimum payout limits are scams, but as an online survey participant, you should be aware of the risks.

    Warning

    • Beware of online survey companies that in the end turn out to be companies that are paying you for completing offers. These have become more common recently. Instead of receiving survey opportunities your email in box will be clogged with offers to sign up for credit cards, discount services, and shopping clubs that offer you a small payment and a free trial. These companies require a credit card to sign up in their survey, and then hope that the survey participant will forget to cancel their "free trial membership."
