About Boys' Hair Cuts
Some may think a boy's haircut consists of placing a bowl over the little tyke's head and carefully snipping around it. While that is one of the styles that is consistently sported, it is not the only option. Some boys' haircuts, such as the bowl cut, will always be a staple, while others have become increasingly popular of late. Celebrities, sports figures and the acceptance of long hair are some of the main factors in what makes a boy's haircut popular, while easy maintenance may be what keeps it there. Does this Spark an idea?

Brush Cut
-
Simple, easy and a joy to keep clean, the brush cut, also known as the crew cut, has long been a staple for boys. A clipper creates the brush cut, neatly shearing hair close to the scalp. While it was always the standard brush cut that adorned kids' heads in earlier eras, the brush cuts of late can often feature words, stars, swirls or even cartoon characters shaved bald throughout the cut. Brush cuts are especially beneficial in the summer when the temperatures soar. Just make sure to apply sunscreen so the little boy's head doesn't burn to a beet red.
Bowl Cut
-
Bobby Brady may have sported this look on national TV, but it never really came into or went out of style. The name of this look speaks for itself: it's a cut that appears as if someone placed a bowl upside down over the child's head and snipped around the edges. This cut works well for straight hair that stays straight, otherwise the longer layers of the cut will simply look messy if they start to curl or wave. Bowl cuts are adorable for the younger set, while an older boy may get beat up for sporting such a look.

French Crop
-
This style is also known as the "Ceasar Crop" and sometimes called the "French Cut," but the results are always the same. The French crop features hair cut very short on the back and sides with a longer length across the top and front. It offers versatility by allowing older boys to spike or gel the top to their liking, giving them an edgy look. On boys of all ages, this look is very low-maintenance and easy to keep styled and clean.
Layered Cut
-
Boys who wish to keep their hair a tad longer without looking like they were just stuck in a windstorm can sport layered cuts consisting of a step-like pattern used throughout the hair, with the shortest layers near the top and elongated from there. Layered cuts bring out the natural texture and buoyancy of the hair while retaining some length. Layered cuts are also easier to clean and maintain than longer hair of all one length. It is also much less likely not knot and snarl.
Mohawk
-
Thanks to the kids' cuts sported by the offspring of celebrities like Angelina Jolie, little boys are increasingly sporting Mohawks. Once relegated to punk rockers or Indian chiefs, this style features a strip of hair down the center of the head with shaved or totally bald sides. Boys who sport this look will often have a subtle length difference between the sides and the center strip, unlike the towering blue styles sported by musicians who wear combat boots and throw beer bottles from the stage.
