History
-
Buffalo Wild Wings was founded in 1981 by two friends, Jim Disbrow and Scott Lowrey. Having recently moved from Buffalo, New York to Ohio---they soon discovered they were craving something---chicken wings. They tried out the local wings in the area and even visited some of the popular barbecue chains in nearby cities, but none tasted like they did back home. On a mission, they concocted their own recipe by creating wings that are tender and juicy on the inside and crisp and flavorful on the outside. Today, their chain is easily recognized nationwide by their signature logo featuring a large buffalo with chicken wings on its back. Since opening they have won some awards such as favorite national sports bar and restaurant, favorite wings and favorite barbecue by the Memphis Spirit newspaper.
Wings
-
The wings are the company's signature food dish. Not only do they serve traditional style wings, they also serve boneless and naked varieties. The boneless variety consists of chopped rib meat that is deep fried into a nugget or wing shape. Naked varieties are more for the health conscious; they consist of grilled chicken breasts dipped in a signature sauce. The traditional wings are marinated, coated with seasoning, deep fried and then slathered in a chicken wing sauce. Some of the most popular sauce flavors are Sweet BBQ, Parmesan garlic, Asian zing, mango habanero and hot.

Restaurant Atmosphere
-
Entering the Buffalo Wild Wings Restaurant feels like walking into an authentic sports bar. There are wide- screen television sets on almost every wall, showing the latest football, golf and baseball. Sports memorabilia lines the walls, including framed autographed prints of famous baseball pitchers, football players and hockey teams. The decor leans toward rustic with subtle lighting, glossy barnwood walls and hardwood floors. Lighting is dim overall but there are pendant lights above each booth and table, creating an intimate setting. Although the restaurant attracts mainly young adults between the ages of 21 and 28, families and young children are welcome to come as well. There is a bar in the center of the restaurant that serves draft beer and alcoholic beverages. This restaurant is generally not very quiet---especially with the five or more televisions playing simultaneously. On designated days of the week there is usually a band, a comedian and karaoke. Takeout and curbside pickup is also available at some locations.
