T-Mobile is a wireless phone company that offers voice and data service for customers in the United States. Phones operate on the GSM network. For web and data services, T-Mobile uses the EDGE and 3G high speed data networks. T-Mobile has a variety of individual and family plans, with extra features available for customers to choose from, to customize their wireless service to fit their needs.

    Types

  1. T-Mobile offers a wide selection of phone styles. You can choose from a basic phone that doesn't have a lot of frills, a trendy phone with a ton of available features or more complex smart phones and handheld devices. Phones are available from a variety of manufacturers.
  2. Features

  3. T-Mobile offers features such as mobile-to-mobile service among its customers for an additional monthly fee. Or, customers can choose the popular "My Faves" calling plan, which allows the user to make and receive unlimited calls from five numbers they select as their "faves", while still maintaining the allotted minutes for any other calls from the plan they have chosen. T-Mobile also offers family plans, with features that can help parents monitor their child's wireless usage.
  4. Considerations

  5. Text and picture messaging, as well as data service, is available for T-Mobile customers. Users can take advantage of the T-Mobile Web2Go, formerly known as T-Zzones. This allows for web browsing, account maintenance, instant messaging, and downloads of ring tones, games and wallpapers. There are also data plans specifically for Blackberry, G1 and Sidekick users.
  6. Options

  7. T-Mobile customers can customize their phones with wallpapers, MegaTones, and HiFI Ringers, which allow them to hear their favorite song instead of the phone ringing. The Voices and Sounds feature allows a customer to hear just that, rather than a ringtone. Users can choose from celebrity clips, sound effects and more. There is also a feature called Caller Tunes, which allows a song to play for the caller while they wait for the call to be answered.
  8. Benefits

  9. In addition to having several contract plans available to customers, T-Mobile also offers pre-pay and flex-pay options, so that customers can select the type of phone service that best suits their needs. Individuals interested in pre-paid phone service can purchase a phone kit. There are certain phones the customer is able to choose from, some of which have Bluetooth and a camera, as well as text and instant messaging capabilities. The kit also includes airtime and certain accessories. Customers have the option to pay by the day, which also provides unlimited night usage starting at 7 p.m. and unlimited calls to any T-Mobile phone, or to pay by the minute, at a rate of 10 cents a minute.
  10. Benefits

  11. T-Mobile also offers home phone service, through its plan, T-Mobile @ Home. Customers can connect a phone to a T-Mobile router through a broadband Internet connection. This service offers features similar to that of other home phone providers, such as caller ID and call waiting, plus extras such as Caller Tunes.
