About Telekinesis
Telekinesis is a paranormal phenomenon allegedly exhibited by some people in which they, apparently using nothing but mental power and concentration, are capable of moving objects with their mind or even allowing them to be suspended in space. Believers in telekinesis suggest that this power is available to everyone, but usually lies dormant and inactive because they cannot master the ability.

Features
-
The ability to move objects through telekinesis supposedly is done by tapping into an energy source that remains a mystery. Researchers believe that everyone has telekinetic powers within them, but it simply requires too much ability to concentrate to bring it to the fore. Telekinesis requires an interaction between the energy of the person and the energy put off by the object itself.
Types
-
One offshoot of telekinesis that is most often and most successfully demonstrated is given the name macro-psychokinesis. The foremost practitioner of this is Uri Geller who achieved a fair amount of fame in the 1970s by going on talk shows like Merv Griffin and Mike Douglas and bending spoons using only his powers of concentration. Another type is known as pyrokinesis which involves being able to start fires using just the mind, and cryokinesis in which a person can supposedly turn ice into water.

Experiments
-
Several famous experiments have been conducted into the authenticity of telekinesis. In the 1930s Joseph Rhine conducted an experiment with people who claimed they could use this power to control dice on a craps table. The results showed a statistical anomaly that suggested the participants could control the dice in some way. An experiment conducted by William Cox and Werner Bonin also indicated that people who claimed to be able to divert drops of water with their mind possibly did possess some kind of telekinetic power.
Skepticism
-
Countless other experiments and research into telekinesis have not been as kind to claims of authenticity. Ever since the 18th century frauds have been exposed who were revealed to actually be moving objects such as tables and chairs by hidden mechanical means. Just as damaging is that most of the experiments that appear to confirm the authenticity of telekinesis have failed in their efforts to be reproduced.
Telekinesis in Pop Culture
-
Telekinetic powers are dramatic and so it should come as little surprise that Hollywood has been moved to include a person with telekinesis as much as possible. Among the most famous films that have featured characters with telekinetic abilities are the adaptation of the Stephen King novel Carrie, the X-Men movies, Scanner, Firestarter, and, for comic effect, the Chevy Chase comedy Modern Problems.
How to Release Telekinetic Energy
-
The advice that is typically given on how to release telekinetic energy involves being in good healthy both physically and emotionally, sensing the energy of the object you want to move, getting yourself into a deep trance-like state of being so that you can focus entirely on just one thing (not nearly as easy as it sounds) and possessing the ability to replenish one's energy when it is drained, which it will be when you interact with the object you are attempting to move.
