What Is the Best Saxophone Brand
When you've come to the decision to purchase a saxophone, there are several things to keep in mind, such as brand, which determines longevity and sound. There are good and very bad brands of saxophones, and if you're a beginner, it's helpful to determine which brand is best for you.
-
Considerations
-
If you're a beginner, you need a saxophone that isn't too complicated and one that's easy to play. If you're an advanced player, you probably need a saxophone brand that is advertised as "professional" and/or "top quality." If you start playing an advanced-level saxophone as a beginner, you will have a very hard time producing good quality sounds out of the instrument, so make sure you start with a brand that is fit for beginners.
Types
-
There are four common types of saxophones. The soprano saxophone is a B flat instrument that is curved or straight in shape. This type of saxophone is for the more advanced player. The alto saxophone is a medium-sized instrument, and is one of the more commonly played saxophones. It's an E flat, and is beginner-friendly. The tenor saxophone is a large instrument, and is also a B flat. One of its characteristics is a larger mouth piece, rods and holes. Its commonly played by jazz players, and is best for intermediate and professional players. The fourth type is a baritone that plays low A tone. This saxophone is not best for beginners because it's prone to damage due to its construction.

Function
-
Each type of saxophone has different characteristics that a beginner to advanced player will enjoy. To determine which brand is best, you need to first determine what type of music you want to create. If you need a saxophone for a school band, a beginner one is probably best; if you want a saxophone for a professional band, you'd want a more professional instrument that has different advanced features. Remember that producing good sound from a saxophone is difficult for a beginner, so choosing to start with a soprano saxophone, for example, will make it very difficult for you to produce clear, clean sounds.
