About Las Vegas Nightlife

Las Vegas is a town where there is always something to do. The nightlife in Las Vegas ranges from upscale options to free entertainment along the strip itself. Try a great restaurant. Dance in an infamous club. Enjoy a musical performance where you can sit back and enjoy the entertainment. Las Vegas has much to offer after the sun goes down.

  1. Comedy Clubs

    • Las Vegas has numerous comedy clubs throughout town for evening entertainment. The L.A. Comedy Club in Planet Hollywood offers a modern version of a comedy club. The seats are comfortable. There is plenty of space, along with a view of the Las Vegas strip. Prices vary depending on the comedian and time of year. The Comedy Stop in Las Vegas is located in the Tropicana Hotel and Casino. The price for a ticket at the Comedy Stop includes one free drink as well. The Riviera Comedy Club is located in the Riviera. All of these comedy clubs have a variety of acts, including national headliners.

    Night Clubs

    • Night clubs in Las Vegas are known for extravagance. Tryst in The Wynn has a 90-foot waterfall in the middle of the club and offers couches to relax on and a dance floor to burn off that late night energy. The Ghostbar in the Palms is located on the 55th floor of the hotel, and gives a spectacular view of the Las Vegas Strip along with the surrounding area. There is even a portion of the dance floor that is clear where you can see through to the pool below, giving you the appearance of floating on air. The Risque is a night club in the Paris Hotel and Casino. This club offers Latin music, where you can dance or sit back and watch the employed "go-go dancers" entertain you.

If you are looking for an upscale experience, try the Cathouse in the Luxor. For a significant cost, you can have a private table for four, a bottle of Skyy vodka and mixers. The club features scantily clad servers and decorations that resemble a 1900-era bordello. Friday nights feature free champagne for all females in the club.

    Host Services

    • The clubs in Las Vegas can draw quite a large crowd, and the number of people that can enter at a time is limited. If you want to make sure you can get in to the clubs you want on a given night, it's a good idea to hire a "host." These are not the hosts you find in casinos; they specialize in the Las Vegas nightlife. There are Websites that offer host services where you can move to the front of the line to get into numerous nightclubs in one night instead of spending hours in line. They also have special packages where you can pay one price and drink all you want in designated clubs; that price varies based on the clubs you choose, as does the selection of clubs. See the link in our Resources section for more information on that.

    Free Entertainment

    • There are many different entertainment options you can find for free in Las Vegas at night if you don't want to spend money on a host or pay the high-priced cover charges at the bars. Some of these activities include watching the dancing waterfall at Bellagio, the Sirens show outside Treasure Island or watching a volcano erupt at the Mirage. All of these are located on the strip. If you wish to leave the strip, try visiting the Fremont Street Experience where there is a light show in the sky that is the length of five football fields in what is known as "Old Las Vegas" or "Downtown."

Warning: Don't Gamble With Your Safety

    • Las Vegas is a town where tourists can be distracted very easily. The criminal element in Las Vegas is very aware of this. Pickpockets are common both on the Las Vegas Strip and downtown. Keep your wallet in your front pocket and a close eye on your purse while enjoying the entertainment both on the street and in the nightclubs. Remember the clubs can be very dark, giving unscrupulous individuals the opportunity to move in the shadows. Security is present, but take steps to protect yourself. If you venture to Fremont Street, keep in mind that pickpockets view tourists looking up into the sky at the light display as a distracted target. If you find yourself in an area of town late at night where you don't think is safe to walk, play it safe and take a cab. Ask at the door of the hotel, casino or club for help getting a cab.
