About Nitro Powered RC Cars

All of the top manufacturers of electric powered RC cars have a line of nitro powered RC cars. They are the latest rage in the RC car field. They are easy to operate and are the fastest of all the types of remote control cars. You can get one that looks like a PT Cruiser, a Lamborghini or the biggest monster truck.

  1. Features

    • Nitro powered RC cars are remote control cars that run on fuel called nitro, which is actually a blend of Nitro methane, methanol and oil. They are much faster than the electric RC cars, attaining speeds of up to 75 miles and hour. There are models not only of cars, but trucks as well. They come assembled and ready to go, and you can buy the fuel as well. There is the potential to run your cars in competitive racing meets and eventually rise to the professional level.

    Types

    • The type of nitro-powered vehicle you pick depends on where you are going to use it. If you are going to use it on a smooth surface, like a sidewalk, you can pick one of the street car models, but if you are going to run it off road, pick one of the trucks. They have high traction wheels and can take a lot of punishment and keep on going.

    Usage

    • Your new car will need to go for a couple of runs before it reaches it top performance level. Basically, the engine needs to get broken in. After the first couple of runs, check the car over and make sure everything is the way it should be. It may need some adjustment. You car will come with instructions. It is important to follow them exactly if you want your car to work its best and last a long time.

    Storage

    • There things you need to do if you are not going to be using your car for an extended period of time. You need to take out the fuel and the oil as well. You do not need to discard the fuel; just store it in a cool place where no one can reach it. Be sure to label the container so everyone knows what it is. Dispose of it as soon as you can according to your local environmental regulations. Remove the batteries and discharge the energy. Your instructions will tell you how.

    Warning

    • Nitro powered RC cars are not made to be used by anyone under the age of 12 without adult supervision. They are safe to use as long as proper precautions are taken. For instance, running them in a public park where there are small children playing is not a good idea. One of the cars going 75 miles an hour hitting a child, or an adult for that matter, can cause an injury.
