Heaven's Gate Farm is a horseriding facility in Pipersville, Pennsylvania. Privately owned by Beverly and Mike Flynn, the farm offers private lessons, summer camps and real-life experience from a horseriding national champion. Heaven's Gate Farm offers trainers and equipment, and hosts walking, riding and jumping shows. The Flynns board horses, care for them, and retain the services of a veterinary technician. Their farm is open year-'round.

    Identification

  1. Heaven's Gate Farm is a 12-acre farm with a stable of horses; hundreds of students are taught there every year. The facility boards and cares for horses around the clock, and has boosted students to spots in competitions at the local and national levels. The farm hosts holiday horse camps, charity rides and events, pony rides, and demonstration shows. Classes start at $15, and prizes are awarded to top riders.
  2. Function

  3. The Flynns give lessons at Heaven's Gate Farm throughout the year, focusing on horsemanship, equitation, jumping, dressage, hunt seat and horse care. The annual summer camps feature daily riding, horse shows and other activities, including races, games, swimming, tie-dying and arts and crafts.
  4. Features

  5. The facilities at Heaven's Gate Farm include an outdoor ring with all-weather footing, a lit indoor arena, hunter and jumper courses, and horse rings. For the horses, the stables feature stalls, rubber mats, indoor grooming stalls with hot and cold water, and laundry services. The stalls are cleaned 7 days a week. An owner is on the premises at all times to provide fresh water, and there are night checks, wormers and fresh hay for the health of the horses.
  6. Time Frame

  7. The Flynns have owned and operated Heaven's Gate Farm since the 1970s. Beverly Flynn grew up riding horses on her farm with her father and uncles; she bought her first horse, Mister, as an adult. (Mister turned 28 years old in 2008, and was still alive and residing in Flynn's stable at Heaven's Gate Farm.) After daily riding lessons with Mister, Flynn worked with many highly respected horseriding trainers, including Jack Trainor, Ray Francis, George Morris and Frank Chapot. As of 2008, Morris was still teaching students at Heaven's Gate Farm.
  8. History

  9. Beverly Flynn rode in horseriding's "A" circuit for 20 years, winning two national championships with horses Esprit and Grand Finale. Flynn also rode champion horses in the United States Equestrian Federation's Zone 2 Finals, and has won numerous ribbons at the prestigious Devon Horse Show. Today, she is a full-time riding instructor at Heaven's Gate Farm.
