Endless pools have a current that the swimmer swims against. The current keeps the swimmer in one place, while he or she keeps on stroking. It is like walking on a treadmill. You get all the exercise while staying in one spot.

Considerations

Above ground indoor pools come with the option to have a deeper end. If you are considering getting this option, you will also need to consider breaking the floor and going down into the ground at the deep end as deep as the extra footage. The other option to consider is to have a platform built around the pool deeper at one end.

Benefits

An indoor pool can benefit home owners in every part of the country. In the north, an indoor pool can be used on even the coldest of days. The effect of swimming in under a glass roof while snow falls all around is amazing. In the warmer parts of the county, an indoor pool makes swimming a pleasure on the days when it is too hot to enjoy being outdoors. It may be comfortable in the pool, but not so trying to sit around it.

Warning

An indoor pool will create a lot of humidity that needs to be controlled. You can do this by ordering a pool that comes with a retractable cover or by installing a dehumidifier or exhaust or window fan. Make sure the floor is strong enough to support the pool, which will contain tons of water. Your local ordinances may require that an engineer approve the installation
