Excalibur at nightHistorically, Las Vegas was an adult paradise. In the 1960's the Rat Pack and Wayne Newton dominated the night club scene and the city was primarily about gambling, dining, and shows as well as quickie marriages and divorces. In 1969, Elvis opened at the International Hotel and held court there for years. Building and investments imploded in Las Vegas in the 1980s, and today the area boasts that it is the largest metropolitan city in the U.S. founded in 20th century. -
Vegas at nightKids love the various themed hotels that Las Vegas offers such as the Excalibur, where they can imagine themselves as knights at King Arthur's round table or explore a great game area.
The Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino has four pools, including a wave pool and a 400-foot-long Lazy River. The hotel has several fast food restaurants and there is an arcade on site or Gameworks across the street by the mall.
Another fun hotel for children is the Circus Circus Hotel where you can count on reasonably priced rooms. There are plenty of free circus acts to entertain the kids as well as inexpensive food options. The Adventuredome Theme Park will keep everyone entertained for $24.95 per person for a whole day pass.
New York/New York Hotel and Casino has one of the largest game arcades in Las Vegas. It is located just across the street from the Excalibur, movie theaters and mall. They also have a roller coaster and a food court for quick meals. -
Other attractions that kids enjoy include the Mirage Hotel's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, which is a 2.5 million gallon series of pools that house bottlenose dolphins in an artificial coral reef. The lobby of the hotel features a 20,000 gallon seawater aquarium with over 60 species of fish and 1000 coral reef animals. The hotel also features a tropical rainforest and a volcano.
The Luxor has an IMAX theatre and the King Tut Museum, and the MGM Grand offers a lion habitat.
The Lied Discovery Children's Museum has over "100 different interactive science, art and humanity stations" for children to enjoy and is one of the largest children's museums in the United States. -

Mandolay Bay Hotel has a Shark Reef Aquarium with over 2,000 animals such as sawfish, piranha, moon jellies, crocodiles and sea turtles in 1.6 million gallons of seawater.
At Laser Quest, teens enjoy live action laser tag, which is a high tech combo of hide and seek and tag.
The Stratosphere Las Vegas Hotel and Casino is the tallest observation tower in the United States at 1,149 feet. Thrill rides here include the Big Shot, which shoots you 160 feet up into the air at 45 mph. X-Scream is a giant teeter totter that propels you over the edge of the Tower 866 feet above the ground. Insanity; the Ride is a giant mechanical arm that extends 64 feet over the edge of the tower and spins you at mind bending speeds. -
The Silverton Hotel has a beautiful 117,000 gallon saltwater aquarium.
The Ethel M Chocolate Factory offers free admission and a tour of the candy making process.
Take the walk along the lake in front of the Bellagio to see the water and music show every evening.
See the spectacular fountains at Cesar's Palace.
The Venetian Hotel is home to the famous Madame Tussaud's, which has incredible, lifelike wax figures of famous celebrities.
Don't forget to stop by the Mirage at dusk to see the volcano explode.
There's a wildlife habitat at the Flamingo Hotel.
