- Adobe Systems Incorporated was founded in 1982 and incorporated in 1983. Adobe PhotoDeluxe Edition 1 was first introduced in the mid 1990s for Microsoft's Windows 95 operating system. Since this time, PhotoDeluxe has been designed and released for both Windows and Mac platforms. It was discontinued in 2002, when Adobe introduced its latest consumer photo editing application named Photoshop Elements.

The Home versions were released in Editions 1, 2, 3 and 4 for Windows platforms and Editions 1 and 2 for Macs. The Business version was Edition 1 for Windows.
- Adobe PhotoDeluxe can get pictures from files, cameras, scanners, the Internet and other media sources. You can then rotate it left or right and flip it horizontally or vertically. It is capable of resizing and trimming the photos in various ways. The quality of the photo can be altered through modifying the brightness, contrast and colors of it.
- You can use PhotoDeluxe to repair and alter photos in numerous ways. This includes taking objects out of them, removing any red eyes or doing other touchups. You can also restore damaged old pictures; get rid of dust, scratches or noise on photos. It includes special effects you can use to add text, texture, edge effects and change the photos appearance in a large number of ways. These photos can then be used to create a number of things, be sent to someone or printed.
