Backlit projectors are a popular piece of technology in the rental market. Renting a projector is usually a smarter business decision than spending thousands of dollars to buy one. Since backlit projectors use a standard 110-volt power supply and connect to any computer via a USB cable, it is generally safe to assume that any projector will work on any computer that is USB-equipped.

    Function

  1. Using a backlit projector serves a valuable purpose for anyone who needs to make a presentation to a group of people. Projectors take copies of images and videos from your computer and project them onto a larger surface. Projecting a copy of the media onto the wall or a projection screen allows everyone in the room to comfortably view presentation materials without being huddled around a computer screen. This is particularly useful when making a presentation to a large number of people, but it is also helpful when presenting to smaller groups.
  2. Time Frame

  3. Most projector rentals are done on a daily rental basis. However, many people rent a projector for 2 to 3 days at a time. Consider how long the event you are using the projector at will last, then factor in a little extra time to practice your presentation so that you are comfortable with using the machine.
  4. Considerations

  5. Check with technology retailers in your area. Computer stores will usually have a small number of backlit projectors that can be rented for a daily rental rate. Any local company that rents computers will usually also have backlit projectors for rent. You can also rent a backlit projector from a national rental agent, such as Meeting Tomorrow or Projector123. Links to each of these can be found in the Resources section.
  6. Benefits

  7. Saving money is the main benefit of renting backlit projectors. It typically costs several thousand dollars to purchase. Since a backlit projector can usually be rented for considerably less, it is a much more economical choice for those who just need to use a projector periodically. The average rental rate for a projector is around $50 per day or $100 for a 3-day rental. This rate is for a quality brand, such as Epson or Panasonic. Generic brands can be rented for less.
  8. Warning

  9. Renting a backlit projector does not include insurance under most rental plans. This means that if you rent a projector and it gets lost, stolen or damaged, you will be responsible for paying the full replacement value of the projector. Some rental companies offer insurance with the rental, so be sure to ask.
