About Craps

Craps is a thrilling, quick and entertaining dice game. It can be played in land-based casinos or online. This is known as "bank craps," since the players are playing in opposition to the "bank." Craps can also be played against other players, which is known as "street craps." It appears very complicated at first glance, but with a little basic knowledge, almost anyone can learn how to take part in an exciting game of craps.

    History

  1. Craps history is debatable and said to have begun in 1573 B.C. with an Egyptian dice game. It was identified as "Theban dice" and the earliest known game of chance. Craps is also linked to the Holy Roman Empire. It is in addition connected to a game called "Hazard" that was created by an Englishman around 1125 A.D. The French (some believe it was the English) brought it to New Orleans during the 1800s. Craps was developed into the game played at present, when dice maker John H. Winn altered it to permit betting for or against the shooter.
  2. Function

  3. Craps is a gambling game. It is played with two dice and permits a number of diverse bets. Basically. you are making a wager on what you think the outcome of the thrown dice will be. You can make these bets throughout a roll. The payoffs fluctuate greatly, along with the odds of winning. It can be played anywhere, but is most often played in casino settings (online or land-based).
  4. Types

  5. You can place several types of bets while playing craps. The bets are set on the craps' layout in the proper location. Some of the wagers can only be placed for a single roll of the dice and others remain active until a game is complete. A few of the bets cannot be removed once made and several others can be taken down at any time. You can also increase some of your bets through laying odds on them.
  6. Features

  7. The payouts in craps range from even money (1:1) to 30-to-1 (30:1). The highest paid bets are known as "proposition" bets. These are all single-roll bets. The payouts include 3:1, 5:1, 7:1, 15:1 and 30:1 if a two, three, seven, eleven or twelve is rolled. The even money wagers include pass line bets, come bets and some of the field bets.
  8. Identification

  9. Certain rolls of the dice are acknowledged with specific expressions. These include "aces" or "snake eyes" for a roll of two, "ace-deuce" for three, "yo" or "yo-eleven" for eleven, "midnight" or "boxcars" for twelve and "hi-lo" for two or twelve. The term "craps" is used when a two, three or twelve is rolled. The number seven is the easiest one to roll and is very important in this game.
