About Airbrush Tanning Supplies
Airbrush tanning is a popular method of acquiring a healthy-looking, summery-bronze glow without actually going to the beach and being exposed to the sun. People who use airbrush tanning can have a glorious suntan all year-round. In this style of bronzing, airbrushes apply tanning solutions to the body. Does this Spark an idea?

Expert Insight
-
One easy way to get all of your airbrush tanning supplies is by purchasing a set. This might also be a cheaper option than purchasing every item one by one. Typical airbrush-tanning supply sets include a single-action airbrush, air hose (about 10 feet long, preferably), a couple of 3-oz. bottles, approximately 16 ounces of tanning solution and a compressor. You can typically purchase these sets for about $150.
Significance
-
Airbrushes (also referred to as spray guns) are the most significant component to airbrushing tanning. The airbrush gives an even, smooth coating of a tanning solution that has DHA (a clear solution). Much of the time, an instant tanner is used alongside the DHA solution to give the person a sort of "color guide." It also helps the tan appear more instantly as the DHA tan is developing, which usually takes about a day.

Considerations
-
Many people worry whether the DHA in the solution is safe. DHA is a simple sugar derivative that has been in existence since the 1920s. In the 1970s, the FDA declared that DHA was safe for cosmetic purposes. DHA causes the outside layer of skin to have a chemical reaction called the Mallard Reaction, which causes the skin to darken.
Potential
-
Your airbrush, compressor, air hose and bottles can all last for years if you take care of them properly. That's why it's a good investment to buy them all. However, the tanning solution has a shelf life of about nine months. Depending on how you store the solution, however, the shelf life can differ. Keeping the tanning solution in the refrigerator is the best way to keep it good for a long time. Do not leave the solution exposed to the air, and never leave the top off the bottle. Also, do not expose the tanning solution to temperatures above 85 degrees.
