Trumpet Lessons

Trumpet lessons can begin as early as 10 years of age. One of the first things students learn about is their armature. They also learn that the trumpet takes a lot of wind to generate sound. As the student progresses in the lessons, he learns to not only play the trumpet, but also how to read music.

The obvious benefit from trumpet lessons is the sound one creates when playing. Lessons are basic in nature and have a repeating pattern. The student also learns how music relates to other instruments.
  2. Function

Each lesson will have a unique function.
  4. Potential

The potential of the lessons depends on the student. The instructor can be top-notch and still have failing students. Or she can watch as her student rises above the standard of excellence. The potential, therefore, is only limited by the imagination of the student taking the lessons.
  6. Features

  7. Key Signatures

Learning to play the trumpet requires concentration and regular practice. Each lesson features something new as students reach a level of excellence. For example, when a student learns key signatures, she will be able to tell which notes are flat or sharp. This feature of the lesson can then build upon chromatic scales and varying key signatures common in orchestrated music. This also prepares the student for future lessons.
  8. Types

Trumpet lessons can focus on jazz or classical. Other lessons can be broad in range and teach the student to play many styles of music. The type of trumpet also comes into play. For example, the B-flat trumpet is the most common of trumpets. However, they also come in the basic keys of F and C, which require different types of lessons.
