Lipstick has been used for beautification purposes for centuries. However, the lipstick that we know today was not the lipstick used thousands of years ago. It has come in and out of fashion through the ages, but is something that many women today cannot live without.

History

Lipstick was used as far back as the ancient Egyptians and Greeks, however it has had a checkered history. Such methods were used across the world, from Europe to Africa and the Far East. However, the materials became expensive and difficult to use, so lipstick was rarely worn until the retractable stick of lipstick was invented early in the twentieth century.
