Wrestling fans have Wrestlemania and music fans have American Idol, but neither of those compare to the NFL extravaganza known as the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl has developed into an event much bigger than anything else on television. In between the million-dollar commercials, All-Star halftime show, and post-game celebrations is an actual football game. To make this game even more intriguing, people participate in many varieties of Super Bowl Pools. They all offer a chance to cheer teams you may not care about and put a little money in your own pocket.

    History of

  1. There have been opportunities for people to play in Super Bowl pools ever since the first Super Bowl in 1967. It was in that year that the Green Bay Packers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs and began the history. The Super Bowl has been played every year after that and has only grown in popularity. The Super Bowl usually takes place during the last week in January or the first week in February.
  2. Type

  3. There are a couple of different types of Super Bowl Pools to participate in, but two are more popular than others. One of the most popular is the Super Bowl grid. It is a 100 square grid where people fill in their names and get assigned numbers for each team. In order to win, their numbers must match the score at the end of any given quarter. For example, if Team A scores 14 in the first quarter and Team B scores 7, than the person with A-4 and B-7 wins for that quarter.
Another popular football pool is the Super Bowl Props Pool. This pool allows the player to choose many different options during the Super Bowl game and the person who chooses the most correct options will be awarded as the winner. Examples of these questions are "Who will score first?", "Will the first score be a touchdown or a field goal?", "Who Will Win the Coin Toss", and others. There are usually around 20 different props to guess on and winners are tallied at the end of the game. In the event of a tie, every player guesses the total combined score for the conclusion of the game, and whoever comes closest to the score is declared the winner.
  4. Benefits

  5. Super Bowl pools allow people to become invested in a football game where neither of their favorite teams may be playing in. Also, Super Bowl pools can accumulate huge jackpots and prizes, which can mean big money if you win.
  6. Risk Factors

  7. In many parts of the United States gambling is illegal, and if you are participating in a large football pool you can be cited for illegal gambling. If you are creating or joining a football pool, then make sure that it is legit as possible and keep it involved to a small amount of people to avoid any trouble.
  8. Time Frame

  9. If you are participating or running a Super Bowl pool, you should join it or begin distributing as soon as the two Super Bowl teams are decided in the NFC and AFC championship games. This way, you will have enough time to get everyone to join and if you are looking for one, it will not be filled before you find it.
