Instant Pot Recipe: Applesauce

Store-bought applesauce? What's that? After making your own applesauce from scratch, you will never want to eat any other kind. Luckily for you, this Instant Pot applesauce recipe takes just 15 minutes to make, with only a few simple ingredients.

Things You'll Need

  • 6 Gala apples, peeled, cored, and quartered

  • 1/2 cup water

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • Instant Pot

  • Masher

Step 1: Cook Apples in Instant Pot

Place peeled and quartered apples in the bottom of your Instant Pot. Pour in water, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt. Close lid, seal the valve, and cook on manual high pressure for 5 minutes. Let it natural release for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Mash Apples

Remove lid and use masher to puree apples. Mash until smooth and most of the lumps are gone.

Step 3: Serve & Enjoy

Serve while warm, and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.

Tip

If you prefer a more smooth texture, use an immersion blender to mix the applesauce until lumps are gone
