What's your morning skin care routine?
My morning skin care routine is my favorite! I usually exfoliate in the morning. I have naturally oily skin, so in the morning, I feel like exfoliation is most effective. Depending on the shape that my skin is in, I'll do a gentle exfoliation or a more intense one if my skin is breaking out. My favorites are Goldfaden MD Doctor's Scrub Advanced or Dermalogica's Daily Superfoliant. I always follow up with toning with Fresh Beauty's Umbrian Clay Facial Toner, then a serum and then a moisturizer. Then, I ALWAYS wear sunscreen. I actually learned how to properly take care of my skin when I was working in beauty PR a few years ago.
What makeup do you usually wear?
I always do a natural look. My number one thing to always wear is concealer and a touch of mascara, if nothing else. On a normal day, I do a liquid foundation, concealer, powder foundation and a little lip gloss. Then, I play up my eyes with an always gold/copper/brown shimmery-smoky eye. I find that it complements my brown eyes and auburn hair more than any other eyeshadow color. I've been obsessed with glo minerals Metallic Eyeshadow Quad compact for the past few years.
What's your go-to hairstyle?
Most of the time, I have my hair in air-dried, natural waves. My second go-to is just throwing in some curly waves, so it's a really simple and quick process.
What haircare products you use?
Agave Healing Oil (for my ends), Davines Naturaltech Replumping Hair Filler Superactive (for a little hair pick me up every so often), Simply Smooth Xtend Keratin Replenishing Magic Potion, Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle, Fekkai Blowout Sealing Serum, and Stranded Dry Shampoo.
Do you have a DIY treatment you love?
I've always loved making my own lip scrubs. I combine olive oil, honey and raw sugar.
How do you dress up your look for a night out?
For a night out, I usually just play up my eye makeup a bit more and definitely make sure my hair is done, whether I decided to do wavy or blown out straight. Then just add heels of course!
What's the last beauty product you used 'til there was nothing left?
Tell us a little bit about your blog! How did The Gilded Bellini come to be?
My blog, The Gilded Bellini, is a brunch, cocktail and lifestyle blog honoring the brunching lifestyle! I used to live in N.Y.C. where the brunch culture there was so embedded in the entire city. My friends and I would plan out days in advance where we'd go that weekend. When I moved out to California, I saw that it really was a lifestyle here in L.A., too. It's more than just food. You brunch for the whole experience — the ambiance, the drinks, the crowd, what you're wearing. It brings people together, and that was my starting point. Nobody in the media space ever really acknowledged that brunch is a lifestyle, so I took that step and brought The Gilded Bellini into the world!
What are your top three favorite brunch spots in L.A.?
What's your brunch beverage of choice: a mimosa, a bloody Mary, or a coffee?
Mimosa... and a double shot of espresso!
If you could grab brunch with anyone (dead or alive), who would it be and what would you order?
Oh, this is a good one! Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. I'd probably order avocado toast or a crab Benedict. Something healthy and upscale that MKO would vibe with.
What's one thing you do every day that makes you feel great?
I am addicted to working out — pilates, barre, running, etc. — and also just working on The Gilded Bellini. Both help me alleviate any stress or anxiety I have.
What's your evening skin care routine?
I always take off my make up with Nudu Cream Cleanser. The rest is similar to my morning skincare routine with cleansing my face with an exfoliant or gel cleanser, then using a toner, then applying a serum and moisturizing. I usually will do a stronger serum during the night time like Jouviance Collagen Boost Serum and then mix a drop of my Goldfaden MD Fleuressence Cell Oil with moisturizer. When I decide to do a face mask, I usually use Fresh Beauty's Black Tea Perfecting Mask. I'll finish everything off with Goldfaden MD's Lifting Neck Cream.
When do you feel most comfortable in your own skin?
When I feel like I've taken good care of myself. I can completely tell a difference in the way I feel inside when I've had a good week of drinking a ton of water, eating well and working out. I feel super comfortable going out of the house with not an ounce of makeup on my face... might just add a little dab of concealer under my eyes if I still feel like I need a little pick me up. I am on camera and in front of the camera a lot, so I think that feeling comfortable in my own skin definitely comes through in my videos and photos. So, I try my best to never let that go!
How would you describe your approach to beauty?
My approach to beauty is to not over do anything. I think the most attractive thing you could do is be confident in the skin you're in. Don't get me wrong, I wear makeup. Everyone likes to enhance features on their face to feel pretty or make them look more awake. But for the most part, I feel like being as natural as you can be is the best way to go about a beauty routine. When it's all said and done, when you take off your makeup at the end of the day, you want to always see the same person in the mirror.
